Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and negotiate intricate financing strategies for shipping enterprises, encompassing leasing options and other innovative financial mechanisms.
  • Oversee the complete process of shipping finance deals, including thorough financial and KYC due diligence, legal documentation crafting, and the successful culmination of financial closings.
  • Vigilantly monitor and evaluate a spectrum of risks associated with the shipping loan portfolios, including credit, compliance, operational, and market risks.
  • Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with a network of shipping financiers, leasing entities, and other key financial institutions.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, industry shifts, and macroeconomic indicators to uncover fresh avenues for financing and leasing, as well as to proactively manage portfolio risk.
  • Work in synergy with a diverse array of internal teams, such as leasing, legal, research, and operations, to ensure seamless, efficient, and compliant deal execution.
  • Craft comprehensive financial models, compelling business opportunity summaries, credit applications, transactional reports, and persuasive presentations tailored for both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in the realm of shipping finance, corporate finance, or a related discipline.
  • A demonstrable history of conceiving, executing, and overseeing intricate shipping finance transactions.
  • Profound understanding of the shipping sector, financial instruments, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Robust financial modeling and analytical capabilities, with advanced proficiency in Excel and other financial software tools.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication (both verbal and written), presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a cognate field.
  • A readiness to embark on business trips to engage with clients and financial collaborators as required.
  • Native proficiency in English and Cantonese is highly desired, with fluency in Mandarin being an advantageous additional qualification.
