Quantitative Analyst

Our client, a leading financial institution, is currently seeking a highly analytical and experienced Quantitative Analyst to join their team, with opportunities available in Hong Kong or Shanghai. This pivotal role will see the successful candidate responsible for developing and maintaining critical risk models, particularly VaR/ES models, to monitor and measure risks across the organization.

The ideal candidate will be tasked with refining and enhancing VaR models to ensure precise market risk measurement, interpreting market data to identify emerging trends, and working closely with risk management and other departments to assess trading positions. Additionally, the role involves conducting stress tests to evaluate potential market scenarios, preparing risk reports for senior leadership, and collaborating with other risk teams to align methodologies. A key part of the role also includes continuously monitoring the performance of risk models, recommending improvements where needed, and ensuring alignment of risk metrics across the organization.

We are looking for candidates with at least 5 years of relevant experience in quantitative risk analysis or development, with a strong emphasis on VaR. You will need solid expertise in Python and be capable of explaining complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Candidates who have managed teams of quants and developers will be particularly well-suited for this role. In addition to strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, the ideal candidate should be self-motivated, able to work independently, and thrive in a team environment.
